Ainigma "Diluvium" CD
DILUVIUM is another mysterious, dark stoner rock effort from 70s Germany. AINIGMA only released this album which is a pure krautrock classic, totally explosive in terms of emotions, obviously rocking and lovely psychedelic. "Prejudice" starts with dreamlike introspective organ atmospheres than rapidly catch the essence of a jam session, with abundant improvised Hammond organs, heavy guitars. "All things are fading" is a moody, depressive but furiously rocking with damaged riffs and sad guitar solos. Longtrack "Diluvium" (nearly 18 minutes) is a standard heavy rock epic with melancholic guitar breaks, touching melodies, dynamic, captivating organ melodies. Bonustrack "Thunderstorm" features ultra doom like heavy guitar, weird, chaotic improvises ambiences. The Freeman brothers (Crack In The Cosmic Egg) described the Aignima sound as a raw and slightly messy kind of hard-edged bluesy rock, sometimes recalling Frumpy, but with a more psychedelic underlying Vanilla Fudge type sound. As many aficionados say: This one can't be missed by fans of vintage space rock and early krautrock.
